If a raised seal is used, then the notary’s name must be printed or typed below the signature. The name(s) of the grantor(s) must be printed or typed below the signature. Failure to do this may result in an additional fee of $1.00 per signature. Certified photocopies of documents may be accepted, but only if they are certified by another recording office.
The filing fee is set by statute and must be paid at the time of filing. Generally, the filing fee is based upon the number of pages the document contains. This tax is in addition to the regular filing fee.
