General Information
Voter Registration is open until Tuesday, October 18th at 5:00 pm,  a citizen of the United States who is 18 years of age or older or who will have attained the age of 18 years at the next election must register before he or she can vote, registration is open until the close of business on the 21st day before the election, first time voters must show identification at the time of registration and provide an appropriate copy of their citizenship paper before that person is eligible to vote.When a voter has been registered according to the law, the voter shall remain registered until the voter changes name by marriage, divorce or legal proceedings or changes residence.

Voter Registration forms are available at the County Clerk's Office, 423 North 5th St, Atchison, Kansas 66002 or through the Kansas Secretary of States Office, Topeka, Ks.

Advance voting will be open at the County Clerk's Office, 423 North 5th St, Atchison, Ks  from October 24th until noon on November 7, 2016, anyone wishing to vote prior to election may do so, office hours are 8:30 am til 5:00 pm.

we will be having additional Satalite voting at the following locations:
Wednesday, October 26, 2016, from 9 am til noon- Muscotah City Hall, 604 Kansas Avenue, Muscotah
                             1:30 pm til 4:30 pm ,Lancaster City Hall, 301 Kansas St, Lancaster
Friday, October 28, 2016, 9 am til 2 pm  - Effingham City Hall, 414 Main St, Effingham
Friday, November 4th from 5pm til 8pm at the County Clerk's Office, 423 No 5th St
Saturday, November 5th from 8:00 am til noon, County Clerk's Office, 423 No 5th St.

Voters need to bring their ID with them at time of voting, the following ID's are accepted:

1. Drivers License or non drivers identification card issued by Kansas or by another state or district of the US
2. A concealed carry of handgun license issued by KS or a license issued by another state or district of the US
3. A US passport
4. An ID card issued by an Indian Tribe
5. An Employee badge or ID document issued by a government office    
6. A military ID document issued by the US
7. A student ID card issued by a educational institute in the state of Kansas
8. A public assistance ID card issued by a government office

Polls open at 7:00 am on November 8th and close at 7:00 pm on that day.
